CORNELIS VAN PUTTEN

Mr. Cornelis van Putten received a PhD. in Philosophy from the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 2006 and a MSc. in both Clinical Psychology and Philosophy from the University of Tilburg in 2001. He also received a degree in Criminal Investigation in 2009.

Mr. van Putten is specialised in the assessment and management of deviant and  problematic behaviour. He has gained a lot of experience with conducting (internal) investigations. He regularly advises board of directors with understanding the psychological dynamics and strategies behind such investigations. Prior to his work with Dantes, he was for more than a decade employed as a behavioural expert and chief-inspector within the Netherlands Police Agency. He has significant experience with assessing and interviewing individuals demonstrating problematic behaviour and advising on the process of (complex) investigations.

Mr. van Putten is an internationally recognised expert on assessing risk and problematic behavior. He worked with international organisations such as the Swiss based Center of the Democratic Control of the Armed Forces (DCAF). He is consulted on a regular basis to assess key figures and to advice on (internal) investigations.
Mr. van Putten is a guest lecturer at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management on the topic of Behavioral Compliance, the Training and Study Centre of the Judiciary on the psychology of dealing with witnesses in criminal investigations and at the Centre of Organizational Integrity. He serves on the editorial board of the American Psychological Association accredited Journal of Threat Assessment and Management.

He also received a degree in Criminal Investigation in 2009. Mr. Van Putten specialises in the assessment and management of deviant and dangerous behaviour. For more than a decade he was employed as a behavioural expert and a chief-inspector within the Netherlands Police Agency, developing and applying risk-assessment instruments in primarily covert police operations. He has a lot of experience with assessing and interviewing difficult individuals and assessing high-risks operations.

Mr. Van Putten is an internationally recognised expert on psychological risk assessment procedures. He worked with organisations such as the Center for European Policing (CEPOL) in Hungary and with the Swiss based Center of the Democratic Control of the Armed Forces (DCAF). He is consulted on a regular basis to assess individuals in highly sensitive investigations.

Mr. Van Putten is a guest lecturer at the Frankfurt School of Finance and Management, the Training and Study Centre of the Judiciary and at Nyenrode Business University. He is a member of the editorial board of the APA-accredited Journal of Threat Assessment and Management.
