This two-day training event starts off with an explanation of what workplace violence entails. The teachers will discuss research outcomes, psychological models and illustrate problematic workplace behaviour using actual casework.
The goal of this training is to provide the participant with sufficient knowledge to identify potentially dangerous individuals at an early stage. With both a theoretical and a case analysis approach, participants will become familiar with behavioural risk assessment and the identification of risk factors.
Participants will analyse real-life cases and identify risk factors. They will learn to be sensitive to any emotional aspects of perpetrators and indications of psychopathology. The first day will end with an introduction to the structured professional judgment process. The second day will continue with this topic, touching on investigation and introducing a psychological risk assessment instrument. Participants will use this instrument during their case assessment and present their findings.
