Gerard van Schaik
Gerard van Schaik started his career with the Dutch police. There he worked for more than 26 years, 20 of which in the fight against serious crime. First as manager of an arrest team and then as head of the Criminal Intelligence Department (CID). During that period, he was involved in several large-scale police investigations.
After these years of experience, Gerard continued his career in business as manager “Corporate Security & Investigations” at a large international financial institution. He was responsible for the company's international security policy, as well as the actual security of senior management.
Because of the international aspect, Gerard worked closely with security staff from various countries and led several crisis situations. He was involved in situations involving threats against the company, employees and board members. He made risk management plans, guided concrete security interventions and developed preventive measures. Where necessary, Gerard worked closely with external experts and consultants, growing his interest in the behavioural aspects of his field.
Gerard's many years of practical experience, combined with his analytical thinking skills and experience in working with behavioural experts, enable him to support organisations facing complex security and threat situations and provide them with concrete actionable advice.
