Jannie van der Sleen
Jannie van der Sleen obtained her MSc. in clinical psychology at the University of Groningen and then worked for 15 years as a behavioural science teacher at the Rechercheschool in Zutphen. There, she taught in the field of reporting, witness and suspect interrogation, specialising in interrogations in vice cases and interrogations of minors.
Since 2002, Jannie has been working independently. She supervises detectives who have to interrogate minors. She does this on behalf of the Police Academy. She also provides education for various organisations on conducting interviews with vulnerable people. She was chief trainer of the Criminal Investigation Psychologist course at the RINO Groep in Utrecht until 2024. Jannie also acts as an expert in criminal investigations. She reports on the value of statements of declarants, witnesses and suspects in such cases.
Working closely with DANTES, Jannie supports investigations into behavioural and social safety concerns. Especially when children and minors are involved, use of her expertise is essential. She assesses behaviour and statements of minors and advises when minors need to be interviewed.
