Training duration (2 days and an optional 3rd day)
Strategic Interviewing in a Workplace Context
This two-day (plus optional third day) intensive training is designed for professionals working in organisations and who want to improve their interviewing skills. The training focusses on gathering pertinent and relevant information from subjects. The training will also pay significant attention to gathering information from resistant and semi-cooperative subjects.
Besides the practical skills, the participant will also get a better understanding of motivations behind specific behaviours as well as the psychological dynamics of a working relationship that can make the interview challenging.
On the first day the trainers will focus on the foundations of interviewing. The second day will continue with approaches and techniques for developing a working alliance with subjects as well as how to use relational dynamics to enhance the flow and efficiency of an interview and designing an interview plan.
There is an advisable opportunity to extend participation to a third day which will be dedicated to exploring the personal abilities of participants and how those abilities influence their interview success. The communication style of the interviewer and their personal challenges establishing productive operational bonds with subjects, will be engaged during the practical exercises.
Participants will receive extensive personal and constructive feedback while engaging in role-play exercises with professionally trained actors.
